Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy

At The Curiosity Spark, we aim to keep things clear, fair and easy to understand. These terms help outline how bookings, payments, cancellations and services are managed across workshops, events and entertainment experiences.

Bookings & Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed once the service, date, time, location and fee have been agreed upon by both parties, and any required deposit or payment arrangement has been accepted.

Booking details may be confirmed by email, invoice, written agreement or direct message.

Payments

Payment terms are discussed and confirmed before delivery of any service. Depending on the booking type, payment may be requested in advance, on the day, or by invoice following the service.

Under our current business operations our services do not charge clients GST. Therefore GST is not applicable for invoices or payment links.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is appreciated within the timeframe outlined on any invoice provided.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

If plans change, please provide as much notice as possible.

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days before a booking will generally receive a full refund of any amount paid.

  • Cancellations made within 7–14 days may incur a partial fee depending on preparation, scheduling or travel already committed.

  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of a booking may forfeit deposits or incur charges where specific preparation, equipment purchases, scheduling or travel has already taken place.

Where possible, rescheduling will always be preferred and every effort will be made to find a suitable alternative date.

Refund Policy

Refunds are assessed fairly and may depend on notice provided, preparation already completed, and any costs already committed to the booking.

Deposits may be non-refundable where significant preparation, scheduling or travel arrangements have already taken place.

Service-Specific Notes

School Workshops

School workshops are delivered according to the agreed timing, year levels and format, with thoughtful preparation and delivery techniques used to support engagement, structure and positive classroom management. Overall student supervision, behaviour management and any venue-specific safety requirements remain the responsibility of school staff unless otherwise agreed.

Children’s Parties & Family Events

For private events involving children, a responsible parent or supervising adult must remain present and accessible throughout the duration of the booking.

The Curiosity Spark provides entertainment and facilitation, but responsibility for child supervision remains with parents, guardians or event organisers.

MC & Hosted Events

MC and hosting services are delivered according to the agreed event brief. Timings, content and delivery may adapt naturally to suit audience flow and event conditions.

Balloon Modelling & Interactive Activities

Where balloon modelling or hands-on interactive activities are included, supervision of younger children remains the responsibility of attending adults.

Balloon items should be used responsibly and safely, particularly around very young children.

Delivery of Services

Each service is delivered in good faith and may be adapted where appropriate to suit age group, venue, audience size, timing and event conditions.

The Curiosity Spark aims to provide engaging, safe and professional experiences while allowing flexibility for each unique booking.

Character Representation

Some services may involve historical figures, literary characters or themed representations.

These portrayals are intended as creative, educational and entertaining interpretations rather than exact historical or personal depictions.

Where appropriate, light comedic adaptation, generalised costuming and interpretive performance may be used to suit audience engagement and accessibility. Any character adaptations will be studied and prepared based on extensive research and understanding of the characters being portrayed.

No portrayal is intended to defame, misrepresent or diminish the reputation of any real individual or character.

Safety & Responsibility

The safety of participants, organisers and entertainers is important at all times.

Clients are asked to ensure that performance spaces are safe, suitable and free from unnecessary hazards.

The Curiosity Spark reserves the right to adjust or pause activities where safety concerns arise.

Unexpected Circumstances

If circumstances beyond reasonable control affect delivery — including illness, venue issues, weather, transport delays or emergencies — every effort will be made to reschedule or provide a fair alternative.

Insurance

The Curiosity Spark holds current public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Public Liability to $30,000,000 per Occurrence Product Liability $30,000,000 per Occurrence and in the aggregate during any one Period of Insurance.
